Friday 28 June 2019 was an important day in the iEMFC history! It was our first iEMFC Graduation Ceremony which took place in June in addition to the December Ceremony. A great opportunity to officially end the program and to receive the Maastricht University certificates for the new graduates of the January to July 2019 period. We had the pleasure of welcoming 9 of the 10 graduates, together with their partners, family and friends.
Other special guests besides our graduates were Eefje Simpelaar, on behalf of the VRC, Jos de Visser – iEMFC Supervisory Board member, and Luc Brouwers – EMFC Curatorium member. They all gave a short presentation about the value of this well-deserved certificate and emphasised that they should all feel enriched as a professional but also as a human being. Of course they also congratulated the new (i)EMFC graduates.
Richard Gerards, the iEMFC student representative, shared a nice overview of his program experiences with the audience, recounting various funny and interesting highlights and also challenges, but most importantly, ending on a positive note!
Another important thing to mention is that Sebastiaan Rijksen is the first student of his March 2017 cohort who completed the iEMFC program. Therefore, his name will be on the Controllers Cat plaque soon, forever and ever!
The Kruithuis in the university garden was the place to be for the reception afterwards. Unfortunately, due to the tropical temperatures that day, many guests stayed inside. However, hopefully, everyone enjoyed this festive afternoon. For the graduates it is the start of being an iEMFC alumnus and ambassador, as well as the journey to a CFO position!
Take care and let’s stay in touch!
