PERSONAL
We use Problem Based Learning and other personal, small-scale, and action-oriented teaching methods.
Online education and collaboration has been on the rise for many years and the recent corona crisis has accelerated this development even further. While organisations are reconsidering and reinventing their business models for the future, universities and business schools too are exploring viable ways to revise their educational models and formats.
At UMIO and Maastricht University we have embraced this development by building a learning portfolio for individuals and organisations that want to continue their professional development online. Below you find an overview of our initiatives and programmes offered in online or hybrid format.
MaastrichtMBA – UMIO’s international executive MBA programme – introduced an Online track, alongside their On-Campus track. The online teaching format offers students maximum flexibility, which makes it even easier for them to integrate the study into their busy lives. The Online track was launched early 2020 and since then has attracted an enormous diversity of professionals from all over the world.
UMIO has also developed a portfolio of management courses that can be followed in online format or blended fashion, combining virtual learning episodes with face-to-face encounters on our university’s campus or other on-site locations. These courses provide maximum flexibility for working professionals whilst safeguarding the quality of peer-to-peer interaction.
While building our online portfolio, we work hard to ensure that attending any of our programmes will enrich rather than compromise the quality of learning outcomes. In designing online programmes, we keep our focus on creating personal, small-scale, cross-disciplinary learning journeys that include the latest academic insights and maximise interaction with teaching faculty and peer learners.
We use Problem Based Learning and other personal, small-scale, and action-oriented teaching methods.
We focus on a range of tools and a multitude of exercises and interaction moments to optimise the learning effect.
We take a broad perspective to professional challenges based on academic insights from the entire university.
On request, we also build online and blended programmes for professional teams and organisations in a variety of industries. From for-profit SMEs and large multinationals to NGOs, universities and business schools around the world.
Depending on the specific needs and preferences of our clients, we design learning journeys and use formats that fit the challenges imposed by COVID-19, without compromising the quality of learning outcomes.
To meet the needs of digital engagement, we recently introduced UMIO Prime; our free connection and interaction platform that helps business professionals and organisations gain the knowhow and network to create a meaningful impact together. The goal of this initiative is to make research insights easily accessible and connect them to today’s professional and societal challenges.
In recent months, we have conducted various online and hybrid learning journeys for individual professionals and organisations. By doing so, we acquired new valuable insights, some of which we are sharing below…
