In this engaging keynote conversation, four speakers from the world of sport and performance reflect on how they deal with complexity in high-stakes environments. Drawing from experiences as athletes, coaches, scientists, and leaders, they explore how to navigate complexity, pressure, unpredictability, and decision-making when the stakes are high.

The panel includes Robbie Servais (Technical Manager at Roda JC Kerkrade), Jorien Enning (former coach of the Dutch Olympic rowing team and Leadership expert), Bas van Hooren (sports scientist and top athlete), and Martin Lammers (former Rugby player, experienced HR director and Learning & Development expert).

Together, they bring a rich and diverse perspective on resilience, adaptability, and learning—during the game, in life, and in professional life.

Step into the future of leadership development with this dynamic 90-minute session combining the power of virtual reality with the principles of effective leadership. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore key leadership concepts—such as decision-making, communication, and team dynamics—through immersive VR scenarios designed to challenge and inspire. Co-hosted by SBE’s DexLab and Jorien Enning, this session offers a unique opportunity to experience leadership in action, within a simulated yet realistic environment. Engage in interactive exercises highlighting how digital tools can enhance self-awareness, collaboration, and strategic thinking. This is more than a tech demo—it’s a practical journey into the digital future of leadership learning.

Foreign direct investments, international capital flows, international trade, relocation of production and migration have changed the world economy. These globalisation trends present new opportunities for those who are well-positioned to take advantage of the openings they offer, but also pose serious challenges for nations, firms and workers. This session aims to provide you with an overview of the driving forces as well as the consequences of globalisation. Recent changes in terms of global inequality and global poverty will be presented and discussed, as well as the political implications of globalisation for nation-states, including recent geopolitical tensions and the political backlash towards globalisation in a range of countries around the world.

HR serves a critical role in organisations. They are expected to elevate organisational performance through continuous improvement of established HR practices and to contribute to organisation’s learning capacity. However, they are frequently critiqued for not achieving a strategic role and getting stuck at the operational level. This workshop explores with its participants how HR can push its impact by focusing more on an organisation’s learning capacity. This workshop is being led by Wim Gijselaers (Professor in Professional Learning) and Martin Lammers (experienced HR director and Learning & Development expert), who combine insights and experiences from practice and research.

How can you keep learning as a team and strengthen each other? This interactive workshop introduces you to intervision as a powerful tool for reflection and professional growth. We explore how structured collegial consultation contributes to cooperation, problem solving and a learning organisational culture. You will experience practical working methods and discover how to use intervision effectively within your own team. Get inspired and take away immediately applicable ideas for your own practice!

This session explores the art and strategy behind delivering impactful business presentations that leave a lasting impression. Through a mix of practical techniques, live demonstrations, and real-world examples, participants will learn how to craft presentations that resonate in high-stakes professional settings—whether addressing clients, pitching ideas, or influencing decision-makers. The workshop will focus on enhancing clarity, structure, and delivery, with particular attention to storytelling, visual design, and persuasive communication. Participants will also receive tailored feedback from industry experts, offering valuable insights into audience expectations and opportunities for refinement. Designed for professionals ready to sharpen their presentation skills and elevate their executive presence, this session offers a focused, hands-on learning experience in a collaborative environment.
