Dr. Rogier Deumes is Assistant Professor in Governance at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) and Programme Director at UMIO, where he leads executive education programmes for board members, accountants, and controllers. He also serves as Academic Manager of the Thesis–Internship Programme (TIP) and coordinates and teaches governance courses across multiple programmes, including the Maastricht MBA.
His research focuses on fundamental, domain-independent design principles for governing adaptive, dynamic systems. This work seeks to support the structured development, evaluation, and integration of empirical theories across the natural, social, and formal sciences, with relevance for emerging socio-technical systems.
Rogier’s prior work has been published in international academic journals, and he has contributed to commissioned research for organisations including the European Commission and the Big Four accounting firms.
