The Dutch pension system is ranked number 1 in the world according to the Mercer Global Pension Index. In a recent interview with the Broadcast Retirement Network, Thomas Post, Associate Professor of Finance at Maastricht University, explains the features of the system and what makes it such an outstanding one.
Thomas also discusses how the research at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics helps to increase member engagement in pension systems. That is, how we design communication nudges that motivate pension plan members to get actively involved with pension planning and that by laying the foundation for retirement in good financial health. Finally, he stresses the importance of adhering to high ethical standards when using nudging techniques.
